Did Elizabeth Olsen just chop her long wavy hair off into a bob?

Bob Watch is back. AKA, our valiant effort to keep up with the bob revolution of 2023. But this time we've been duped. When it comes to celeb hair, we're used to wigs, extensions, clip in fringes, draw string ponytails, and more, but this skulduggery from Elizabeth Olsen took a rarer path of illusion.

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in New York, the actress seemed to have cut her long and wavy blonde tresses into a cute and bouncy blonde bob. Parted to the side and with a dark root to the honey hue, we were very on board with the snip.

It was, however, brought to our intention, that it is in fact a faux bob. Not one created with a wig or clips or ties, but simply by tucking her long hair into her jacket collar, and teasing it up and out around jaw length, to give that classic bob shape to it.

You can see that more clearly in these pap shots on her way to the show. Who knew having your hair tucked in could actually look so chic and glamorous? And not just like you were running super late and didn't look in the mirror as you went out the door. This life is all about perspective.

So, wee Lizzie Olsen may not be the latest to join the bob squad, but perhaps she's trying it out for size and we can expect one on the way soon? You know what they say. Fake it till you cut it?
