Did Courteney Cox Actually Just Cut Her Own Bangs? Uh, We Think So

Cutting your bangs at home is almost never a good idea — unless you're Courteney Cox, that is. Not long after she debuted a shaggy new haircut with golden highlights, the Friends actress proved once and for all that she gives zero effs by taking a pair of kitchen scissors to her hair on camera for the whole world to see.

On October 31, she posted a video to Instagram captioned "Happy Halloween! 🎃👻🖤" In it, she's sitting on a couch in a dimly lit room and says, "It’s Halloween, and I thought I’d get into the spirit of things and watch some of the Scream moves. I chose Scream 3. I noticed that Gale Weathers has those infamous bangs. I don’t think anything's that wrong with it." She turns her camera to show her onscreen counterpart, who's wearing some baby bangs that are questionable even by 2000s standards. " I think they’re cool. I say I bring them back. Let’s see."

Then the unthinkable happens: Cox whips out a pair of scissors — which are definitely not designed to cut hair — and chops away in front of her face until all that's left is a short, crescent-shaped baby fringe. Just after she's finished, someone in that infamous Scream mask pops up behind her, at which point everyone realizes this is all just a little bit of Halloween fun. See the video for yourself below and prepare to gasp before laughing uncontrollably.

For real, though, there is no way Cox did not just actually cut her bangs like that. If that's a wig, color me impressed because it's identical to her current cut and color. I guess we won't know for sure until we see Cox again in the light of day, potentially with a new and very short curtain of bangs lying across her forehead. Hey, if she could make them work as Gale Weathers in 2000, she can pull them off now.
