Did Capt. Greene Put Magnum, Rick and TC's Lives in Danger on 'Magnum, P.I.'? (Exclusive)

The murder of Capt. Buck Greene sends Magnum, Rick and TC on a multi-episode search for his killers.

We know the reason that Magnum (Jay Hernandez), Rick (Zachary Knighton), TC (Stephen Hill), and previously the late Sebastian Nuzo (Domenick Lombardozzi) have such a tight friendship is from the time they served together in the military and were held as POWs.

We also learned that their unit of two SEALS (Magnum and Nuzzo) and two Marines (Rick and TC) was the brainchild of former Navy officer Captain Buck Greene (James Remar), who later went on to betray his men in order to save his son.

In present day, Magnum, Rick and TC have forgiven Greene, so when he went missing in the season opener, they were concerned enough to investigate. But then his body was discovered.

On Sunday nights’s episode of Magnum, P.I., Magnum demands that the coroner perform an autopsy on Greene – the Honolulu PD thinks it’s an open-and-shut case and didn’t order one -- because he feels the death of his former commander is suspicious, which is definitely the case because as viewers also saw at the end of the season opener, Greene had been black-bagged and roped to a chair and was tortured for information.

The men who kidnapped him have a specific objective: They want the identities of the black ops team under his command who were on a mission in Afghanistan, meaning Magnum, Rick and TC, in order to kill them.

Watch the exclusive video above in which Magnum gets emotional, saying, “This man was a full commissioned officer in the United States Navy. Right now, I can call the DOD and get them involved, or you can just save everybody the time and get the autopsy done.”

The results of the autopsy will send Magnum and friends on a story that will span several episodes as they try to track down Green’s killers and find out if he betrayed them once again, or took the secret of their identities to his death.

Also in this episode, Katsumoto (Tim Kang) takes a job providing security for a chart-topping K-Pop star. Higgins (Perdita Weeks) and Rick find themselves in peril while trying to help Rick’s friend.

Magnum, P.I. airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
