They announced their split with a joint Instagram post on May 8, 2023, after less than a year of dating. “After many months, today we have ultimately decided to end our engagement,” the post read. “We have tried to work privately on our relationship which has been incredibly challenging in the public eye. This has been immensely hard to accept and painful, as there is a lot of love between the two of us. We are deeply hurting and can only ask that there be no hate. The best path for us at this time is to try and move forward and heal from this as individuals.”

Who did Brandon cheat on Serene with? Serene accused Brandon of cheating on her before their split in an inteview on the “Off the Vine” podcast on October 19. “We both had things we could have done better in the relationship,” Serene said. “It was something that we were both very much still in, and we had gone to therapy, which was really cool.”
Serene explained that, though she and Brandon were provided with therapy from the start of their relationship to set themselves up for “success,” there were “just ultimately so many things” that happened that she couldn’t overlook. One such thing was when Reality Steve published a video in 2023 of Brandon with another woman at the club Superstition in Austin, Texas, on May 5, 2023—three days before Brandon and Serene announced their split. Though who Brandon cheated with hasn’t been confirmed, the video showed Brandon dancing with a woman with blonde hair.
During her interview on the “Off the Vine” podcast, Serene claimed that the video caused “irreparable damage” that there was “no coming back from.” “There was part of me that was like, ‘OK, I really love this person and I struggled with it for a really long time,’” she said.
Serene also revealed that the video was sent to her by a stranger via a direct message on Instagram. When she didn’t open the message, the stranger sent the video to someone who was on her Bachelor in Paradise season who told her it was “something you should look at.” Though Brandon apologized to Serene after the video went viral, she still found it “hard to understand.”
“I spent so much time ruminating and playing things back in my head. Like, does this make sense? Did I not see things?” she said. “I think the most painful thing is that we were still very much committed to each other.” She continued, “I never felt that depressed in my life. It was hard to deal with.”
As of writing this, Brandon still follows Serene on Instagram. However, Serene doesn’t follow him back. After the news Brandon cheated on Serene, many fans took to his Instagram comments to criticize him for his infidelity. “Lame ass cheatin ass dude,” one user wrote. Another added, “So disappointed to hear you cheated on Serene.
