Did Billie Eilish shade Jennifer Lopez at the VMAs?

MTV VMAs viewers caught an awkward moment in the crowd, when Billie Eilish didn't look hugely supportive of Jennifer Lopez appearing on stage. Maybe it was just awkward timing?

Last night's VMAs had it all; from the red carpet appearances to the awkward moments, and what's an awards 'do without a little bit of shade?

During the ceremony, which was held in New York City, J Lo came out to present the 'Best Song Of The Year' gong. Before announcing Olivia Rodrigo's 'Drivers License' as the winner, fans notice Billie Eilish looking less than impressed at J Lo's arrival.

"Billie Ellish didn’t give Jennifer Lopez a clap.. a smile.. or anything," one person wrote, while another put, "nah 'cause why Billie got beef with Jennifer Lopez #VMAs?"

Someone else said, "Billie looked so unamused by Jennifer Lopez" and "Does Billie not like Jennifer Lopez lmfao."

To be fair, the moment could have easily been misconstrued - maybe Billie wasn't concentrating on the ceremony at that exact moment, or started clapping seconds later when the camera wasn't on her.

Also, this isn't the first time that J Lo and Billie have been in the same room - they actually hung out in 2020, sharing a photo to Instagram. Lopez later said she introduced her daughter Emme to, Eilish, commenting, "We had a real moment... It was a mind-blowing experience for me. It made me appreciate what I do more, my fans more, what Billie did for my daughter... it was like a full-circle moment. But yeah, we love Billie.”
