Dickies teams up with city of Fort Worth, Texas, to open new skatepark after a decade of planning (Video)

First, let me just point out the obvious—the Dickies team is stacked! Guy Mariano, Mike Anderson, Jamie Foy, Jake Hayes, Franky Villani, Dylan Jaeb, Vincent Alvarez, Christian Henry, Adrian Adrid...heavy hitters.

Seeing them all break in the new Dickies Fire Station skatepark in Fort Worth, Texas, is definitely a sight to see, but there's more to this park than rad tricks and pro skaters—it's now a hub for locals in that area to build a community that didn't exist prior.

"We've been working on this since 2011," says Megan Henderson of Near Southside Inc., the group on the front lines promoting the ongoing redevelopment of Fort Worth's Near Southside. "When the skate community came to us, they were looking for a safe space that they wouldn't get in trouble skating in. And since then we've been fighting for over a decade."

Safe to say all that fighting paid off. This park is officially open and looks incredible!

A staple in Fort Worth, Texas, Dickies has been based there since 1922, so I'd say they definitely have some history in the community. Now in 2023, something like this really brings it all full circle.

This is what it's all about right here. A classic case of how important community building is and how much strength there is in numbers! Together, the local skate community, with the help of Dickies and a handful of others, made this epic dream a reality. Hats off to all involved. Love to see it.

Hey, I'd roll through for that pump track alone!
