The comedy legend recently became the oldest contestant to compete on 'The Masked Singer.'

Dick Van Dyke got rather candid about how he stays so spry at 97.

According to the former Mary Poppins star, the secret to his fountain of youth is "genes, for one thing," but also his "beautiful, young wife," Arlene Silver, 51, whom the comedian credited as the source of his positive attitude.

Van Dyke continued, telling Yahoo! Entertainment reporters during a recent phone interview, "I still go to the gym three days a week and work out. And I advise everybody to do that, because that's what ages people — it's just a stiffening up and not exercising their muscles and their lungs."

"Exercise is the answer," he explained before quickly plugging the book he authored on the subject, called Keep Moving.

And there may be some truth to the practices he preaches, as Van Dyke, who turned 97 on Dec. 13, 2022, recently became the oldest contestant to ever compete on The Masked Singer, beating 91-year-old actor William Shatner's record in Season 8.

Van Dyke married the celebrity makeup artist in a Feb. 2012 wedding ceremony in Malibu, California. Just one month shy of the couple's first wedding anniversary, Van Dyke told Parade that tying the knot with Silver was one of the smartest moves he ever made, "She makes me happy."

"She’s very mature for her age, and I’m very immature for my age, so it’s just about right!" he added.
