The 97-year-old actor is on the mend.

Dick Van Dyke is on the mend after his recent car accident.

In a video interview with The Daily Mail from his garage, the actor gave an update on his injuries.

Van Dyke said he's feeling "pretty good, but sore all over." He explained that the airbag "did not deploy, so I just did a faceplant right in the steering wheel." He also showed the area of his lips where he got stitches, which have since healed.

"Other than that, [the accident] just made me a little dumber," he joked.

When the interviewer noted that Van Dyke looks "fine now" the actor replied, "I'm 97, all my friends are dead."

Van Dyke's wife Arlene Silver also appeared in the video. When asked by the interviewer if she's been taking good care of him, the Mary Poppins star responded, "Without her, I'd probably be dead."

The actor crashed his 2018 Lexus LS 500 into a gate in Malibu on March 15. As reported by TMZ, the actor told police his car slid due to the increment of rain in the area, and he lost control behind the wheel, colliding his car with the gate.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and tended to his injuries, but the actor refused to go to the hospital. According to TMZ, the actor was bleeding from the nose and mouth after his face hit the steering wheel.

As the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star told The Daily Mail, his facial injuries only required two stitches on his lip.
