We’re living in the 21st century, which means having a baby doesn't go hand-in-hand with a loss of youthful coolness and style. Gone are the days of oversized quilted diaper bags adorned with cartoon images of clouds and animals — now, you can tote around your baby’s accessories in sleek, travel-friendly backpacks and purses. Oh, and thanks to actor AJ Buckley and his new diaper bag brand, Paperclip, you can literally help save the world in the process.

Buckley, who you may have seen on shows like Narcos, CSI: NY, and most recently, SEAL Team, initially came up with the idea of Paperclip while changing his own daughter’s diaper. He realized a better, more environmentally-conscious bag could, and should, be available to parents. It wasn’t long before Paperclip bags, made partially of recycled ocean plastic, were on the market. And as of September 2019, all of Paperclip’s stylishly-functional diaper bags will contain no less than 75% reclaimed and recycled ocean plastic.

“There are a lot of great companies out there working hard to get plastic out of our oceans,” Buckley says. “We’re just honored that Paperclip can now play a part in that effort.”

The best part about it? You’d never even know it by looking at the bags. Because Paperclip products are also made with recycled polyester, nylon, and polyurethane, each bag appears to be made of soft fabric and smooth, leather-like material.

But admit it: while helping the environment is vital, another concern as a busy parent is getting your baby changed and cleaned up as quickly and painlessly as possible. That’s where Paperclip’s built-in roll-out changing station comes into play. With the portable station and an added wet-bag pocket, parents can take care of their little ones’ needs virtually anywhere, in a dry, clean, and comfortable manner.

The new line of Paperclip diaper bags includes two convertible backpack styles: the Willow, which comes with a padded laptop compartment and a luggage pass-through pocket for easy attachment to suitcases, and the Jojo. Both styles are available in two colors, each from Nordstrom.
