Tina Brown is writing a new book about the royal family.

The longtime editor of Vanity Fair and the New Yorker was already a venerable media figure when, in 2007, she published The Diana Chronicles, a tell-all biography of Princess Diana which became a bestseller. Now, in an interview with The New York Times, Brown has revealed that she is working on a new book about the royals, which she says will be titled The Palace Papers.

"I agreed to do it in the summer before all this craziness," Brown said, referring to the turbulent last few months for the royal family. Since the summer, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made the unprecedented decision to step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family, and Prince Andrew has been relieved of most of his royal duties amid ongoing controversy over his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. "I’m going to call it The Palace Papers, and Crown is publishing it," she continued. "It’s what has happened since Diana. It turns out: quite a lot."

Asked for her opinion on Prince Harry's psychology, Brown suggested that "the deep wounds of his mother’s death have never healed. And his sense of his role as the second son, the fact that he loved his military career but then left and didn’t have that sense of purpose—all of that came together to make him a very unhappy man."

Brown also said that the recent royal crises have given Charles a chance to prove himself as future king. "He has been very decisive about Andrew, saying, 'He has to go', and about Harry he has managed to walk the line between being a father who cares about the mental health of his son and being someone who understands what the monarchy has to do to be self-preserving."
