Devin Booker’s Nike Book 1 Sneaker Will Release in a Colorway Inspired by His Dog Haven

Devin Booker is honoring his dog with a new colorway of his signature sneaker.

The Nike Book 1 “Haven” is both named for and modeled after his Cane Corso. Most of the sneaker, including the midsole and upper made up of canvas and suede, is rendered in black to match Haven’s fur. Bronze detailing then includes the embroidered outline of a bubble Swoosh, upper most eyestays and branding — a decision which could have been made to invoke the other color fur the dog breed is best known for. Rounding out the shoe is a icy blue translucent outsole.

“Haven” will mark the fourth version of the sneaker to get a wide release and fifth overall. The Book 1 originally made its debut in December with only 800 pairs of the “Clay Orange” colorway released in Miami. A global launch then brought a beige “Mirage” edition in February followed soon after by the grey “Mirage V2.” Releasing on the same day as “Haven” will be a “Hike” edition with several snakeskin textures invoking Booker’s love of hiking.

Earlier complaints about the rollout for the Book 1, which Booker tacitly agreed with in an Instagram account, included lamenting over how long it took the sneaker to release after being announced in September. Whatever the sneaker has lacked in promptness, however, it’s now quickly making up for in volume.

The Nike Book 1 “Haven” will release April 6 through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $140.
