Matt James’s season of The Bachelor isn’t even halfway through yet, but there’s already a report about how/when the “After the Final Rose” special is going down—especially in the wake of COVID-19 quarantine restrictions.

According to Reality Steve, ATFR *is* happening this season—but it won’t be live. Instead, the special will be pre-taped at the end of February to give production a chance to head to Canada for The Bachelorette with enough time to quarantine before filming begins. Per Steve:

“I’ve been told cast & crew will leave for Canada (production/crew probably a week or so earlier than cast like they did for Matt’s season) at the end of February/beginning of March, quarantine for two weeks in Canada, so they can begin filming the week Matt’s finale airs, which looks to be March 15th or 16th, depending on if they’re gonna do a one or two night finale.”

I’m gonna go ahead theorize that this presumably means the next Bachelorette won’t be announced during “After the Final Rose,” since ABC would have to somehow keep her identity a secret between pre-taping and airing. But who knows! Either way, Steve also reports that the “Women Tell All” will film next Thursday in Los Angeles, and about 10 to 12 contestants will be flying to L.A. this week to start their quarantine.
