CV Villas is a London-based travel agency for villas in various destinations including Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Croatia, Florida, and the Caribbean. The study was conducted to help travelers determine where the bluest waters were.
What Were the Bluest Ocean Water Ratings Based On?
The travel agency conducted a study using Google imaging. By collecting unfiltered Google map images of more than 200 beaches, CV Villas analyzed the images to show the RGB color code of each beach. With these codes, they then made comparisons to an ideal blue color. To be more specific, the color code of the certified bluest shade of blue.
Where Is the Bluest Ocean Water in the World Located?
The location with the color code closest to the certified bluest shade of blue may surprise some travelers since it is a bit unexpected. However, in the end, a beach in Albania made the top of the list. The team found that Pasqyra Beach in Albania has the bluest ocean water around the globe. It gained the top spot by being only 12.4 points away from the color code of the YInMn blue shade, which is the bluest blue color. This beach is more commonly known as Mirror Beach due to its reflective nature. The beach is located in a nearly remote location but is also a popular tourist spot. It is across from Corfu, the Greek island, and takes a bit of a commute to get to but this ranking makes it worth the distance.
