If Jean Stoffer isn't yet on your radar, you're missing out. The Michigan-based interior designer and business owner designs homes that are beautiful, functional, and personal—and she's especially good with kitchens. In 2019, House Beautiful editorial director Jo Saltz tapped Stoffer to help remodel her New Jersey kitchen, and we captured the whole process in a show. Back in Stoffer's hometown of Grand Rapids, she's doing a whole range of design projects, from turning a McMansion into a warm family home to renovating a historic mansion called The Madison. Want a front row seat to everything Jean? Good news: She's going to star in her own show on Chip and Joanna Gaines's upcoming Magnolia Network!

In Jean Stoffer Design (the show's working title), fans will get an up-close look at some of Stoffer's most ambitious design projects to date around Grand Rapids. But it's way more than just a renovation show—it's a look at Stoffer's life. "I share personal stories that have shaped how I approach design, business, and parenting," she tells HB, adding that viewers will learn about the inner workings of her business as well as her techniques for overcoming challenges. We'll meet members of her team and some clients, but we'll also get to see the local artisans who produce items for her retail store, Stoffer Home. We'll meet her husband, as well as her children and their families, and learn how they all contribute their unique talents to the business.

Stoffer never imagined seeing herself on TV, as her story didn't fit the traditional TV format. But Chip and Joanna Gaines had a different vision for their network. "They wanted to inspire people with stories that are authentic and uplifting," says Stoffer, emphasizing how Magnolia Network's upcoming programs will hopefully encourage viewers to find and explore a new area of interest. And it was Joanna Gaines herself who guided Stoffer through the production of this show: "[Joanna] has been very encouraging and inspires me to press on, work hard, think of others more highly than myself... and faithfully, with kindness, do beautiful work."

Magnolia Network will launch digitally on July 15, 2021, on both discovery+ and the new MAGNOLIA app. If your cable plan includes the DIY Network, that will rebrand as Magnolia Network in January 2022. In the meantime, you can catch previews of Magnolia Network programming on discovery+.

Currently, Magnolia Network: A Look Ahead Vol. 2 is streaming, which features a sneak peek of Jean Stoffer Design as well as a few of the network's other upcoming series. You can also catch Stoffer on the pilot episode of Point of View: A Designer Profile, a Magnolia Network exclusive that interviews designers in a docuseries format regarding their creative processes and the inspirations and influences that shape their work.
