"Descendants" Star Anna Cathcart Said Sofia Carson and China Anne McClain Took Her "Under Their Wing"

There’s only one more sleep until Descendants 3 hits our TV screens, and we’re not the only ones who are excited about the final installment of the now-legendary Disney Channel series about the VKs (Villain Kids) of Auradon. While the premiere will feature familiar characters like Dove Cameron as Mal and the late Cameron Boyce as Carlos, there are some fresh faces in Auradon, and we can’t wait to meet them.

Actress Anna Cathcart, who plays Dizzy Tremaine, the daughter of one of Cinderella’s evil stepsisters, is one of the youngest VKs in the crew — and newer to the cast, as she was first seen in Descendants 2. While joining a tight-knit clan like the Descendants cast was probably pretty intimidating, Anna found that two of her costars, Sofia Carson (a.k.a. Evie) and China Anne McClain (a.k.a. Uma), were more than willing to take the young star under their wing when preparing for the third movie.

“Sofia and China, they took me under their wing, telling me what to do and helping me get the hang of it all,” Anna told TigerBeat. “They’re great role models. I look up to them both so much, and they’re so talented, so warm, and so great to be with on set.” Aww!

Dizzy isn’t the only new VK at Auradon Prep. In the third movie, we’ll also meet Celia, the daughter of The Princess and the Frog’s villain Dr. Facilier, and the twin sons of Mr. Smee from Peter Pan, Squeaky and Squirmy. The new crew was featured in an exclusive clip called “Road to Auradon,” where Anna spoke a bit more about her character’s relationship with Sofie’s Evie.

“It’s kind of like the new generation all coming over to Auradon, just like how the core four did in the first one,” Anna explained of the four new VKs’ role in the movie. She also revealed that Evie and Dizzy have a “big sister, little sister” relationship in the third installment, and that they’re “very close.” Evie even gets her hair done at Dizzy’s salon.

We can expect way more Dizzy Tremaine action this time around. According to Anna, she’s “more part of the gang” in the new movie. “This is her time that she’s been waiting for for so long,” Anna said. “She gets to go live her dream in Auradon.” And on Friday, August 2, so will we, when Descendants 3 premieres on Disney Channel at 8 p.m. ET.
