Des Linden and Kara Goucher have both been interviewed on many podcasts during their careers, but the time has now come for two of the sharpest women in running to take to the mic themselves. This week they have just dropped three episodes from their new podcast called ‘Nobody Asked Us with Des & Kara’.

Linden and Goucher are the first to admit, although they have toed the line on many a race course, they have never yet had the opportunity to spend time together conversing. This is a treat for listeners, being able to experience this duo getting to know each other on air. The first episode was akin to listening in on a first date between these two running stars. They had obviously prepared the conversation topics for the eighty minute kick-off episode, but it was fun to listen to them sharing their own journeys into the sport and personal anecdotes of their youth while hearing each other’s reactions and responses.

In episodes two and three, the duo cover the debate about the location of the forthcoming US Olympic Marathon Trials and how they both transitioned to the broadcasting booth as rookie announcers outside of their comfort zones.

Both Linden and Goucher have memoirs coming this spring. This podcast will serve to give us, as readers, more insight into the topics that will be revealed in due time in their books, alongside adding to the media landscape two engaging and articulate female athletes with bold voices and strong opinions.

If the first three episodes serve as an appetizer to this partnership, we’re all in for a great main course.
