Dermot O'Leary shares appeal after having wedding ring stolen from London gym

Dermot O'Leary has asked his social media followers for help after his wedding ring and bag were stolen from a gym.

On Friday, the TV presenter, who is married to Dee Koppang, retweeted a photo from the Westminster Police Department of a man identified as a person of interest, writing: “Sadly this was my wedding ring & bag that was stolen.

“I’m sure I won’t see them again, but I’d really like it if he didn’t have the opportunity to steal yours. Please have a good look at the picture & if you recognise him call 101 ref 6195/21aug Dx.”

O’Leary’s request comes after the Westminster police requested help identifying a man seen wearing a black Adidas shirt and glasses regarding “theft of a bag from a gym in Mortimer Street W1 on 13 August”.

“Items stolen include a wedding ring etched on inner side with ‘14/9/12 Team KO,’” the police department said.

In response to O’Leary’s plea for help, many of his followers wished him luck in recovering the stolen ring.

“That’s shocking and so sad. Hope someone has the decency to hand them in for you,” one person tweeted.

Another said: “So sorry Dermot, that's horrendous! I really hope you get your wedding ring back, just awful. Take care.”

Those with any information have been asked to call police on 101.
