Depressed About the End of Summer? J. Lo Isn’t.

The collective feeling right now as we enter September is that of a deep, dark depression, as the new calendar page marks the unofficial end of summer. (A reminder, though: Officially fall kicks off on September 23.) For teachers or parents that transition means it’s back-to-school time; for us here at Vogue, it marks the start of Fashion Week, which means goodbye to sangria by the beach and hello to jam-packed schedules. But there’s one celebrity who’s not letting that #HotGirlSummer energy end any time soon—and of course it’s Jennifer Lopez.

Today the singer and actress—who will appear in the crime romp Hustlers this month—was spotted living her best life on a yacht in St. Tropez, France. (Just like me...if by St. Tropez you mean an office desk with a tiny sample of a French fragrance to my right.) In true diva style, J. Lo treated the diving board as her catwalk, striking a dramatic, Instagram-worthy pose in an immaculate bathing suit that read Forever Young. On the lower deck I can only assume her friends snapped away on their iPhones as though they were capturing some sort of rare eclipse. How could they not, for this once-in-a-lifetime shot? I’d walk the plank myself if it meant I could get a snap with J. Lo in en plein air.

The takeaway? The warm season may be coming to an end, but it’s not over just yet. J. Lo’s impromptu power poses are a crucial reminder to spend these final sunny days living it up, in whatever ways we can. Even if we couldn’t possibly hit the fabulous-factor level that Lopez has served up today—that’s pretty much her domain.
