Problem: Elastic hair ties ruin my freshly styled hair!

Solution: Invisibobble's plastic, coil-shaped hair ties that don't leave dents.

In the past, I used one of those elasticized hair ties lying around to twirl my intact tresses into a messy bun. I kept them coiled until the next morning (despite looking as scary as Miss Trunchbull), but when I'd let it down the next morning in a single Rapunzel-like swoop, my hair no longer looked as straight and sleek as it did the day before. A head full of dents and creases forced me to bust out my flat iron all over again, leaving my ends significantly damaged.

So, in hopes of waking up with flawless day-two hair that didn't require any additional effort, I set out to find an alternative to the easily breakable black elastics I'd been using for years. I first discovered a following behind silk scrunchies, but the New Yorker in me just knew I wouldn't be doing Carrie Bradshaw proud. Then, after seeing them wrapped around the wrists and behind the buns of basically every long-maned millennial (including several hipster gents I spotted on a recent trip to Europe), I finally decided to give Invisibobble's spiraled plastic hair ties a try.

At first glance, they look like a telephone cord or a coiled wrist keychain — so naturally, I expected that their unconventional plastic composition would make for an unpleasant hair-pulling experience. (If you've ever resorted to tying up your hair with a rubber band, you know exactly what I mean.) But to my surprise, they ended up feeling way less tight than a traditional hair tie, and way more secure than a scrunchie.

I found that they stay put perfectly through hours of wear — even on my extremely uncooperative silky strands — and don't slip or slide in my sleep. Even more shocking, my hair has been looking flawless ever since I made the switch. It feels healthier, too, thanks to Invisibobble's unique spiral shape that won't dig into hair, which often causes thinning and damage.

Best of all: I always wake up with a dent-free 'do that doesn't require aggressive heat styling in the morning, so I can hit the snooze button just one more time.
