Denver's Closest Ski Area Has Been Sold
Echo Mountain is known for being the closest ski area to Denver, Colorado.
At just 36 miles from downtown Denver's Civic Center Park, Echo makes up for its size with convenience and affordability. It's a "local's spot" that's enjoyed by plenty of vacationers looking for a fun day with the family without breaking the bank.
Echo's owner Burwell Enterprises announced the sale of the ski area in a press release shared with Powder around 4:00PM ET on Wednesday, September 20th, 2023.
Burwell Enterprises has closed the sale of Echo Mountain to JOGAN INC, LLC. Burwell Enterprises CEO Peter Burwell had this to say about the sale:
“Our goal with Echo Mountain was to create Colorado’s most affordable, most accessible and most diverse ski and snowboard destination,”
“Our remarkable team members at Echo built that vision into a reality – and my family is incredibly proud of that and them.”
Burwell owned and operated Echo for "nearly seven years".
The initial press release is short, and does not include additional details or comments about the new owner's plans for the ski area.
