Dennis-Yarmouth High School principal joins Duxbury High School

DENNIS - Paul Funk, principal of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, will take up his new role as principal at Duxbury High School on July 1.

"I am excited about the new challenge, but I also leave Dennis-Yarmouth High School with great emotion," said Funk.

Funk started his journey with Dennis-Yarmouth High in 2001 and served as teacher, coach and athletic director before becoming principal. He was named a New England Patriots' Coach of the Week in 2011, and the team's Coach of the Year in 2017.

Funk lives in Duxbury with his wife and three children. Two of the children attend Duxbury public schools, and one is a former student.

According to Funk, when the job opened, it made sense for him to pursue it.

"My time at Dennis-Yarmouth High School has been incredible. I worked with an incredible group of faculties and students," said Funk. "I've made some wonderful, long-lasting relationships here, and I will miss that."
