  • 'RHOBH' will not be airing a new episode tonight for the third week in a row.

  • Star Denise Richards explained her thoughts on the hiatus in a recent interview.

  • The cast member also discussed how her experience on the show has changed during her second season.

There's rarely a break in the drama on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hillseven the time someone spends getting ready, or in the "glam chair," is subject to scrutiny by other cast members. But fans who were planning to tune into a new episode tonight will have to wait at least a little bit longer. (The countdown to July 8 is officially on.)

For the last three weeks, the show has been on a mid-season hiatus, which has left many viewers wondering why—especially since the season was just starting to ramp up.

Luckily, Denise Richards is here with some answers, even if she's still keeping mum on that alleged affair headlines and RHOBH have been teasing all season. The main reason the show is on pause right now is the same reason almost everything else is on pause right now: the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

In an interview on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, the actress explained that social distancing practices during the pandemic meant the show was unable to film the housewives' individual confessionals (a.k.a. where a lot of the best reactions and Erika Girardi's classic one liners go down). According to Denise, the cast members have now started filming these segments themselves.

"We have someone come in and set everything up with a mask," she says. "We gotta catch up with the episodes."

Fans will recall that the last aired episode ended with Denise and her husband Aaron Phypers storming out of Kyle Richards' barbecue after a previous incident at Denise's house and the resulting hurt feelings were brought up, again. Fans (and cast members) have noted Denise's somewhat different edit this season than last (we're not talking about happy endings any more), and the Bold and the Beautiful star told SiriusXM that this season was "different" for her as well.

"I went in very naïve, I think, the very first season," she says. "I just wanted to be myself on the show, and you know, whatever happens happens, and just react how I really would." This time around, it's "been a different experience. But, you know, people are watching, so that's good."

New episodes of RHOBH will return to Bravo on July 8, and you better believe fans will be back to watch how all of the drama unfolds.
