Denise Richards gave a rare glimpse at youngest daughter Eloise.

The actress commemorated Eloise's 12th birthday with a sweet Instagram post. She wrote, "Our beautiful Eloise… happy birthday!!!! I can’t believe you’re 12! We love you so much. You’re an angel & teach us so much. We love you so much. Happy Birthday girlie!!!! 💕💕💕."

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star accompanied the birthday message with a photo of the preteen smiling in the backyard with her hair up in two plaits, wearing a summery sleeveless dress and matching flip flops.

Many left birthday wishes for the 12-year-old.

"Happy Birthday Eloise 💗🎂, " wrote RHOBH alum Camille Meyer (formerly Camille Grammer).

Shields' fans also left heartfelt comments celebrating Eloise's big day. "Denise, from watching you speak about eloise [sic] on RHOBH, you have such an incredible love for her and you can see how much she has grown with happiness from her smile in this picture. Hope she had a wonderful birthday 🎉 🎂," wrote a fan. "She’s so beautiful and precious. 🥰 Happy 12th Birthday to your sweet Eloise 🎁🎈💕🎂🙏," commented another.

Richards adopted Eloise in 2011 after her divorce from Charlie Sheen. In an interview with People, she spoke about her decision to adopt after having daughters Sami, 19, and Lola, 17.

"I felt like I wasn't done having children, and I've always wanted to have a large family," she said. "And so after my divorce I felt like, 'Oh well, I'm sure I'll soon enough get remarried and have my family [grow]' and that wasn't in the cards at the time, so I decided to expand my family on my own."

She also spoke about how happy Sami and Lola were to welcome their new sister, noting, "They want to adopt when they get older and become moms. I'm so very proud of them that they've really embraced Eloise. They're so protective of her, they play with her, they love watching her grow and change, and so far I haven't seen any jealousy."
