Denise Austin, 65, Looks So Toned Demonstrating a ‘10-Minute’ Lower Body Workout

  • Denise Austin just shared a lower body workout video to Instagram looking incredibly toned.

  • The 65-year-old revealed “a quick, but effective 10-minute workout,” targeting “all angles of the legs”.

Denise Austin, 65, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway star, fitness icon, and #FitOver50 extraordinaire posted another workout video on Instagram to help inspire and motivate her followers to stay active. This time, Austin is sharing a simple, 10-minute lower-body workout. In the past, she’s detailed her lunge tips and a squat workout, but this time she’s all about that cardio.

“It’s a quick, but effective, 10-minute workout that will wake up your mind and body and get you sweating,” Austin captions the workout video on Instagram. “A lower body workout is one of the best ways to amp up your calorie burn, since some of the largest muscles in your body are in your legs and glutes.”

Ready for the workout? Roll out your exercise or yoga mat. “Let’s get started working on our thighs to warm up those legs, shape and tone your thighs so we get nice firm legs,” Austin explains at the beginning of her video. “We’re going to work on all angles of the legs, the front, the sides, the inside, the back of our legs.”

Austin begins with her legs slightly wider than shoulder-width apart, hands on her hips while moving from left to right, sending her hips out to each side of the mat with a slight bend in the knees. “Warm up those legs, side to side,” she says as she performs the movement.

“Can you get a little lower?” Austin asks, after moving side to side for a few repetitions. She then instructs her viewers to reach their arms outwards while shifting their weight from side to side. She also reminds her viewers to make sure they are focusing on using their leg muscles throughout the entirety of the movement: “You got them? Yes! Use them!”

The last stage of the movement taps into the arms and core to deepen and intensify the workout. Austin, with her arms already reaching out to the side, then drops one shoulder while reaching the same arm down toward the opposite leg. “Let’s twist like a windmill,” she says. She repeats this movement, alternating on each side with no pause in between and continuing the lateral shifting motion with her legs. Austin says this part of the workout is perfect for the outside of the thighs.

Austin then asked fans to chime in with their thoughts via the comments section, and they definitely delivered. “Thank you👏👏❤️ Denise! I definitely need to work on my thighs and my backside!😂,” one fan wrote. “Thank you for always being an inspiration 🙌🏾🙌🏾❤❤❤,” added another. Another fan commented: “You are an inspiration and a gift to real women!!! Thank you for your authenticity!!”
