Demi Moore made an unannounced appearance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday night, presenting the award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. And it seems like her presence at the event might’ve caught her by surprise as well, considering the actress, who would typically have her choice of new designer ensembles, pulled a dress from the back of her closet — like way back.

While delivering the green statue to the Spotlight team, the 53-year-old wore a black Zac Posen gown with sheer stripe detailing and short sleeves. Looking absolutely stunning, the star eschewed the red carpet and only revealed her presence at the show to viewers at home when she stepped onstage. The skintight gown featured a collared neckline, which she left unbuttoned to show some skin, and ruffles down the front. She accessorized with stacks of diamond bracelets on each arm, one large diamond ring on her right hand, and big bling earrings. The G.I. Jane actress had her hair parted in the center and then pulled back with a single strand of hair falling down in front of her face from the updo.

Just as bewildered by the gown’s cameo was its designer, Zac Posen, who created the piece in 2003. Thirteen years later and the number still fits her like a glove, showing off her enviable figure. “What a wonderful surprise for me to see my pal #DemiMoore wearing her own vintage #ZacPosen gown from my second collection many moons ago while presenting at the #SagAwards tonight,” he shared on Instagram upon seeing the piece again. He added in another post that Moore’s “unbelievably beautiful.” He also gave shoutouts to winners Uzo Aduba and Viola Davis, whom he also dressed for the show (although they both dressed in his recent offerings).

While Posen is a household name on the red carpet in 2016, a decade ago he was just a recent graduate of Parsons The New School for Design. Moore was one of his first celebrity fans — they met on a Vogue fashion shoot — and has been a longtime supporter, even recently attending the 2015 Council of Fashion Designers of America as his date. She’s worn his designs on countless occasions from red carpets to movie premieres and even while sitting in the front row of his runway shows. “She’s my idol, she’s so sensual and strong,” Posen said years ago. He also admitted to crying when he first watched Ghost at age 10. “I loved that she took on all of those empowering roles."
