  • Demi Lovato said on a podcast that she wants to adopt and doesn't want to get pregnant.

  • She explained that her potential plans changed after her breakup with Max Ehrich.

  • The "Anyone" singer is keeping her family planning options open after her engagement.

Over the weekend, Demi Lovato appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and talked about her plans for starting a family, since her plans have changed after breaking off her engagement to ex-fiancé Max Ehrich. "I think, if anything, I want to adopt, more than anything," the "Anyone" singer told Rogan on his podcast, per Us Weekly. "Life doesn’t go according to any plan. So, I could sit here and say, 'Yes, I would love to have children.' But I don’t know, because that might change next week. I think in this moment, I want to adopt, for sure."

Even though Demi’s keeping her options open, she admitted that she "can’t really see myself even getting pregnant."

"I was engaged to a man last year. I totally thought that I’d be married, maybe pregnant, by now," she continued. "And that’s not the case… I know that my life is not going according to my plan."

Beyond sharing her potential dreams for starting a family (someday), Demi also came out as pansexual, saying that she’s "part of the alphabet mafia and proud," and attracted to "anything, really." Since her split from Ehrich, she explained that she has pursued relationships with women. "Any attraction I had to a female at a young age, I shut it down before I even let myself process what I was feeling," she said. "Growing up in Texas as a Christian, that’s very frowned upon."

"I’m so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was super closeted off," she explained.

But while Demi might not have plans to get pregnant anytime soon, she did convince fans that she had a bun in the oven back in 2019. In the pic and video, the "Sober" songstress wore a polka-dot dress with her hand resting underneath what appears to be a baby bump while she smiles for the camera.

Before the Lovatics could freak out too much, Demi quickly cleared things up in the caption at the time. "Real or fake?" she wrote, before hashtagging Will & Grace and #meetjenny.

Despite Demi's best attempt at clarity, it certainly seemed like not everyone understood Demi's caption. "Real???" one follower wrote. "Definitely real" another fan commented. "Um you are adorable pregnant!!" still another said. And there were OMGs for days.
