Demi Lovato's career timeline

Demi Lovato began acting when she was 10 years old. She, along with a young Selena Gomez, made her TV debut on “Barney & Friends”. Five years later, Lovato joined the Disney Channel family. Her first big break came in 2008 starring opposite the Jonas Brothers in “Camp Rock.” “It was my first movie so to be able to do something like this for my first project felt great,” Lovato said. That same year, she also released her first album, “Don’t Forget.” Success came with a few hardships along the way. In 2010, after the release of “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” Lovato checked into rehab for anorexia, bulimia and cutting issues. A year later, she revealed she was bipolar. “There’s tons of people that deal with mental illness, so I feel like I want to use my voice to do more than just sing.” In 2017, Lovato celebrated five years of sobriety. She expanded her brand, teaming up with Fabletics for an activewear collection. In July 2018, she was hospitalized for an apparent overdose. Now, she remains focused on her music and recovery.
