Demi Lovato and Jutes Finally Make Their Red Carpet Debut Together After Months of Dating

After breaking off their engagement with ex-fiancé Max Ehrich (who seemingly shot his shot with Olivia Rodrigo not long after), Demi Lovato moved on from something that was holding her back from being their "most authentic self" to a sweet new relationship with Jordan Lutes, aka Jute$.
Rumors of the couple's new relationship had first surfaced in early August 2022 when a source close to Demi told People that the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer was in a "really happy healthy relationship" with an unidentified man. Weeks later on August 20th, the couple made things Internet official in honor of Demi's milestone 30th birthday through an Instagram story post.
Despite the months they've been dating now, much of their relationship has been kept under wraps. Demi met the Canadian rapper and songwriter in a recording studio, where she was working on her eighth album Holy Fvck. Jute$ opened up about his experience working on Demi's single "Substance."
"Substance by @ddlovato out now," he wrote. "One of my fav songs i’ve ever worked on. when i got asked to pull up and write for this session i remember thinking wtf am i supposed to do in a demi lovato session? only to show up and realize she was making one of the hardest rock projects i’ve ever heard," Jute$ beamed. "Obviously a crazy milestone for me but beyond that i feel so blessed to be a part of something i’m such a big fan of. cheers to the whole gang 🖤."

He left a major record deal to go independent
Jute$ was previously signed to Capitol Records. During a 2021 interview with The Nuance Magazine, Jute$ opened up about his experience working on a major label and what inspired him to go independent. "You hear about labels shelving people or holding them without pushing them so often, and I can't say how grateful I am that isn't me," he said. "I had been wishing I could be indie again for a while just because I love being totally in charge of my own career, so it worked out quite nicely."

They made their red carpet debut at a Grammys party
Six months into their relationship, Demi and Jute$ hit the red carpet together for the very first time while attending the Pre-GRAMMY Gala & GRAMMY Salute ahead of the 2023 Grammy Awards. The couple looked fierce in matching all-black ensembles while cozying up to each other in front of the step-and-repeat. Demi slayed in an asymmetrical, ruffled black gown with bright red lipstick, and Jute$ looked dapper in a classic tuxedo. The two shared a sweet kiss on the red carpet.
He posted a heartwarming Instagram shoutout in honor of Demi's 30th birthday
Jute$ shared a carousel post on Instagram showcasing adorable pictures and videos of him and Demi together. He penned a sweet message in honor of her big day. "happy birthday baby. ur a 30 year old minx and i’m the luckiest schmuck in the world cuz i get to call u mine," he began. "Making u laugh has become my new obsession cuz ur smile literally cures my depression (there’s a song lyric in there somewhere)."
He opened up about Demi's journey and applauded her for overcoming all of the adversity she'd been through. "I’m so proud of u for not only surviving everything you’ve been through but coming out on top and becoming ur healthiest happiest sweetest self. and that’s all u baby… i’m just here to support u and tell stupid dad jokes when needed. ur more than ur music, more than ur voice, more than a beautiful face. ur everything. i love u."
That same day, Demi and Jute$ stepped out together for a birthday dinner in Santa Monica, California, per People. According to the outlet, the couple dined at restaurant Giorgio Baldi. Demi rocked a red silk slip dress, black fishnet tights, a leather jacket, and booties, while Jute$ wore a black and white sweater vest, black pants, a bucket hat, and Converse sneakers. As they exited the restaurant, they held hands.
