Demi Lovato is sharing their appreciation for Lizzo after the 33-year-old singer corrected a paparazzo who misgendered Demi in a now-viral video.

In the clip, shared by a Demi fan on Twitter, Lizzo is asked by paparazzi about the possibility of performing with Demi in the future. "We don't have a song together," Lizzo replied, to which the pap asked, "Is that a message Demi? Should she reach out?"

"They," Lizzo corrected the paparazzo before walking away. "Demi goes by they."

After Demi saw the video, they reposted it on their story thanking Lizzo. "@lizzobeeating you f*cking queen," Demi wrote. "I love you 😘 thank you 🥺🙏."

Demi clarified they are non-binary months ago in May 2021. "I feel that this best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and still am discovering," they said in an announcement posted on Instagram. Later on their podcast 4D with Demi Lovato, they opened up more about their pronouns.

"It would mean the world if people could start identifying me as they/them," they said. "I think it's important because I want to use these pronouns that feel right to me."

You hear that paps? In the words of Lizzo, "Demi goes by they." Don't forget it.
