The '70s shag, the '80s mullet, and the '90s money piece are all coming back into style, and now, the 2010s' undercut is back in a big way thanks to Demi Lovato. Lovato, who just hosted the 2020 People's Choice Awards, took to Instagram to show off her brand new blonde pixie cut that features the iconic undercut that was the look of 2013.

"I did a thing..." Lovato captioned her first reveal pic, which shows off her shaved underside. Ruby Rose, the queen of this haircut, commented, "Yes you did!!!" With her approval, we're calling it—the semi-shaved pixie cut is officially back.

In a second post, Lovato revealed what's going on with the top of her chop. It's long, voluminous, and perfectly quaffed, yet the sides are as short as the shaved back. As her hairstylist Paul Norton captioned one of the images from the shoot, "R.I.P INTERNET." Yup, agreed.

Lovato's colorist Amber Maynard Bolt titled this cut, "CHANGE." She wrote in the caption of an Instagram post showing off Lovato's new 'do, "There is something about changing your hair so drastically that allows you to own yourself in a way you never thought!"

Having gone through a whirlwind romance with actor Max Ehrich that started with quarantining together and ended in a broken engagement, Lovato is a perfect candidate for changing up her hair in order to reclaim ownership of herself and move forward.

Last time Lovato went short was in 2019 when she rocked a long bob (lob), but it's been quite a while since Lovato cut her hair above her shoulders (she did a shaved-sides pixie back in 2014—at the height of the undercut). And blonde? That's a new endeavor altogether.

Good luck trying to convince yourself not to get the clippers out. Lovato makes an undercut look so fresh and modern, we may just have to shave the back of our heads, too.
