Demi Lovato Revamps Winter Dressing in Thick-Soled Boots for ‘Top of the Mountain’ Opening Concert in Austria

Demi Lovato brought an edgy take to winter dressing during her latest performance in Ischgl, Austria. The musician traveled to the city to perform at its “Top of the Mountain” opening concert — which traditionally marks the start of Ischgl’s winter season.
On Saturday, Lovato arrived for the occasion in a pair of thick-soled black boots. The “Still Alive” singer’s style featured a round-toed silhouette with matte uppers, which were given a utilitarian edge from their thick soles — a stacked style crafted from ridged black rubber.

Lovato’s chunky shoes leaned into the ongoing trend of thick-soled boots during cooler months, while also bringing a punky edge to cold-weather dressing when paired with the rest of her all-black outfit: a stretchy top, stitch-trimmed pants and an eyelet-lined leather trench coat. Similar boots are favored for their utilitarian shapes and thick, height-boosting soles across Chelsea, zip-up and combat styles, as seen in new pairs from labels including Coach, Ugg and Thursday Boots.
During her outdoor performance, Lovato bundled up in a black nylon hooded puffer coat with a longline silhouette, as well as a matching shearling-trimmed cap and thick gloves. The outerwear continued the singer’s punky outfit trajectory, bringing a gothic edge to practical dressing when braving cold, snowy winter weather.

Lovato’s shoe style is edgy and relaxed. The “La La Land” singer’s onstage and red carpet rotation often features dark boots, platform sandals and pumps from brands including Stuart Weitzman, Gianvito Rossi and Balenciaga. When off-duty, the musician favors Lamoda boots and Prada derby shoes, as well as an array of sneakers from Converse, Stella McCartney and R13, among other labels.
