[UPDATED] Demi Lovato’s Team Releases Statement After Drug Overdose

[Update 07/24/2018 9:50 p.m]: Demi’s team has released a statement to NBC News. confirming that she is currently in stable condition, but that some of the original reports are incorrect.

According to People, a source close to the situation said that Demi did suffer an overdose, but not from heroin. TMZ since recounted their statement.

"Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy," Demi’s spokesperson told NBC News.

Original post: Demi Lovato has reportedly been rushed to the hospital for drug overdose, according to TMZ.

Demi recently released a song called "Sober," where she revealed that she had broken her sobriety after 6 years. Before that, fans were speculating that she had broken her sobriety after she posted several pictures of her with alcohol. She later cancelled her South American tour dates and released the song.

Peoplereports that Demi is currently in stable condition after being treated with Narcon. TMZ obtained the original 911 call and reported that Demi was unconscious when paramedics first arrived at the scene.

According to TMZ, Demi was transported from her home in Beverly Hills to the closest hospital and is currently being treated. Her current condition is still unknown.

Many of Demi's friends have sent out messages of support after the news of her overdose broke, including Ariana Grande and Lili Reinhart.

Demi has recently been in the studio working on her next album and even performed at the California Mid-State Fair two days earlier. Her next scheduled performance was for Thursday, where she was expected to take the stage in Atlantic City.

Over the past couple of years, Demi opened up about her past drug use and her addiction. She went to rehab in 2010 after push back from her closest friends and people around her. "I wasn't ready to get sober," she said in her documentary Simply Complicated. "I was sneaking it on planes, sneaking it in bathrooms, sneaking it throughout the night."

Demi previously lived in a sober house for over a year in 2013. She previously opened up to Seventeen about her experience living a sober life.

"Since I went to treatment, there have been days when it's felt really easy, and I've felt great about where I am. But then I have moments when it's not. That's life," she said in Seventeen's 2014 August issue. "You can't just take your mind and your body into the shop and get it fixed. It doesn't come out repaired. It's not like a car. It takes time-pace yourself. Every day is a new opportunity to change your life and be who you want to be."
