Demi Lovato Reacts to “Fake” Images of Her Fiancé Max Ehrich Professing His Love For Selena Gomez

Demi Lovato is speaking out in defense of her fiancé, Max Ehrich, after some old tweets and Instagram comments started going viral of Max commenting on many celebrities posts, including Selena Gomez.

Over the weekend, people started using the hashtag #MaxEhrichIsOverParty, sharing screenshots of comments Max alleged wrote on celebrities' posts. There are shots of him writing on Madison Beer, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Selena Gomez's Instagram.

"You can literally see here he’s said the exact same thing as he did to every other celebrity and Demi was the only one to let him in her life," one Twitter user claimed." Max is using Demi to boot his career and it’s worked. I really do feel sick."

Other screenshots show him allegedly flirting with Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande, as well as asking Selena to marry him on an Instagram live.

Back in July, one fan pointed out that Max even allegedly tweeted about Selena multiple times in the past. Back in 2018 he reportedly posted, "I'm going to marry Selena Gomez."

One of Max's lives even resurfaced where he praises Selena heavily.

"I think she’s an extremely, extremely, extremely talented girl, and I’ve actually had a major crush on her since 2010," he said about the singer. "And I—my teenage self, like, said it in an interview as well so it’s kind of been this ongoing thing but then like obviously I put it out on Twitter, and I didn’t even realize that would catch like—that people would take that like seriously."

"But yeah, I honestly think Selena Gomez is an extraordinary women," he continued. "What she stands for charity-wise, just being an activist, she just has a great heart. Her heart is in the right place. She loves Jesus. She loves God. She’s just like, she’s an angel, and I love her, but on top of that, I respect her musically and I want to make music with her. Okay? I want to make a song with her and put out a song."

Demi, though, wasn't having any of this. She took to her Instagram story to make a statement, seemingly about the situation.

"It's really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other," Demi wrote. "If women have conflict that's between them NOT YOU."

She continued, writing that there are more important things to write about in 2020, but she said that she understands "those who are so horrified at the reality of 2020 that they gotta distract themselves with doctored images in order not to focus on how bad these times are."

Earlier this year, Demi told Harper's Bazaar that she and Selena are no longer friends. "When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them. But I’m not friends with her," she said. "I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best." According to sources, they didn't have a falling out, they just simply are "not friends at this point."

Neither Selena nor Max have spoken publicly about the situation.
