  • Demi Lovato joined her Sonny With a Chance costars for a Zoom reunion.

  • She talked about what it was like having an eating disorder while filming.

Demi Lovato has been getting super candid lately: She recently went on Jameela Jamil’s I Weigh podcast and talked about her reaction to the #DemiIsOverParty Twitter hashtag and why she feels like rehab prepared her for self-isolation.

But she’s not done opening up yet, because Demi also just spoke out about what it was like having an eating disorder when she starred in the Disney channel show Sonny With a Chance. The show’s cast got together for a virtual reunion, and at one point, Demi’s costar Tiffany Thornton recalled how Demi’s dressing room was “98 degrees every day.”

Demi responded by sharing why that was, saying, “I had an eating disorder and I was underweight and freezing….I would have people over for meetings on my lunch breaks because that’s how much I worked. People would come in, I’d be covered in a blanket, and people would say, ‘Why is it 80 degrees in here?’ I was like, ‘Because I’m freezing.’ They would be like, ‘Oh my god, what’s wrong with you?’”

Demi also talked about how Tiffany was a role model to her, saying:

“When I went away to treatment for the first time, you were my biggest inspiration coming out of it because you dealt with all of those pressures of being a woman on TV….I looked at that as, ‘God, I wish I had that so bad.’ Yes, I probably was happier in my head with whatever I looked like at the time. But I’m so much happier now with the mentality that you have. I look back…and I’m like, ‘Man, it’s a shame that we wasted any energy on what we wore on-set.’”

So good to hear that Demi is in a better place now! You can watch the whole reunion here:
