Big congrats are in order for Demi Lovato: The singer (who uses they/them/she/her pronouns) just got engaged to boyfriend Jordan “Jutes” Lutes.

The 31-year-old announced the news on Instagram over the weekend, along photos of the two looking totally smitten and her huge pear-shaped ring. “I’m still speechless 🥹🥹 last night was the best night of my life and I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life @jutesmusic,” she wrote in the caption. “My love, I’m beyond excited to marry you.. Every day I’ve spent with you has been a dream come true and I can’t wait to love and cherish you forever. Here’s to the rest of our lives. I love you baby 🥰.”

The couple had a “personal and intimate proposal” and celebrated afterward with their families at one of their favorite restaurants, according to People.

Demi also shared a ton of well-wishes in her Instagram Stories. With Demi’s big news, it’s understandable to think back on her love life. (Remember when she dated Joe Jonas?!)

So, who has Demi dated in the past? Here’s a look back.

First of all: How many times has Demi been engaged?

Demi has now been engaged twice. She was previously engaged to Max Ehrich after a few months of dating, but it didn’t last. Demi opened up about her relationship in her documentary Dancing with the Devil, and said they couple rushed into things too quickly.

“So my life has kind of flipped upside down. I’m no longer engaged. I’m really sad that things ended the way that they did,” she said in her documentary. “Good news is, I haven’t picked up any hard drugs or anything like that. I’m hanging in there. Ugh. It’s just shitty.”

Demi also later talked about how devastated she was. “I just miss the person that I started quarantining with,” the singer said. “I don’t know how to give my heart to someone after this.”

After their breakup, Ehrich publicly begged Demi to take him back, per Page Six. Vanity Fair also notes that he went to the beach where he proposed and was seen by paparazzi beating his fists against the sand and walking fully clothed into the ocean.

Who is Demi's new fiancé, Jutes?

Jutes is an independent musician, per People, and has worked with Demi on a few of the singer's tracks. In fact, according to an Instagram post, that's how the couple first met. Most recently, the couple worked on Holy Fvck, Demi's eighth studio album, together.

Demi doesn't post about Jutes too often, but you'll definitely see some adorable photos if you dive deep into Instagram.

In a birthday post in March, Demi wrote, "I couldn’t be more in love with your gorgeous, funny, hot, talented self. I’ve waited my whole life to find you and I can’t wait to celebrate so many more birthdays together."

And Jutes has returned the cuteness too. "i didn’t know the perfect person existed until i met u," the musician wrote to Demi for her birthday in August. "But now that i do, i’m gunna spend the rest of my life protecting u and doing whatever i can to squeeze another smile n belly laugh outta u. i couldn’t be more proud to call u my baby."

Okay, cuties!

Who else has Demi dated?

From a Cyrus sib to a JoBro, Demi has gotten close with a number of people over the years. Here's a peek into her relationship history:

Max Ehrich (2020)

Like many 2020 relationships, Demi's partnership with Max Ehrich was accelerated by COVID. Romance rumors began to fly around the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, and by July, the couple was engaged, per Insider.

Throughout their short time together, Demi and Max were pretty public on social media. In May 2020, the couple even appeared in the "Stuck With U"music video. However, the relationship ended in September of that year. In Demi's four-part documentary, Dancing with the Devil, she opened up about her relationship with her ex.

"I rushed into something that I thought was what I was supposed to do. I realized as time went on that I didn’t actually know the person that I was engaged to," the singer said. "We were only together four or five months. Honestly, it was false advertising."

It's unclear exactly why the couple split, but Demi publicly said she ignored many "red flags" and realized her partner's intentions were not "genuine," per the documentary.

Austin Wilson (2019)

This relationship only lasted a few months (two to be exact) but the couple was friends before they started dating in November, People reported. Austin Wilson is a model, and the couple met through a mutual friend, Thomas, who died of an addiction in October 2019, per Page Six.

The couple had several public outings while dating, including a night trip to Disneyland, People reported. However, the relationship ended in December of 2019.

Mike Johnson (2019)

Yup. The Bachelorette contestant Mike Johnson and Demi were rumored to be dating in 2019. Demi was pretty upfront about her attraction to the reality star (see above) and the pair even went on a few dates, per E! News. However, it seems the relationship fizzled out within a few months.

The romance ended in October 2019, People reported, but not before Mike gave Demi a very public compliment: "She kisses really well," he said on iHeartRadio's Almost Famous podcast.

Henry Levy (2018)

Another one of Demi's love affairs involved Les Enfants Riches Déprimés designer Henry Levy. In late 2018, the couple was spotted on a sushi date, per TMZ. Later, the designer posted a photo of the pair kissing on his private Instagram, per E! News.

An insider also told the latter publication that Demi was using Henry as a "sober partner." Earlier that year, Demi had gone to rehab following a drug overdose, Page Six reported. In March 2019, the pair split just before Demi entered rehab again, per E! News.

Wilmer Valderrama (2011-2017)

Demi first met Wilmer at 17 years old, and the That 70s Show actor was 29, the singer explained in their Simply Complicated documentary, per US Weekly.

"After I turned 18, we began dating," they said, per the publication. "I think it was love at first sight, and I don’t really believe in that, but I believe that it happened.”

The couple dated on and off for six years between 2011 and 2017, per US Weekly. Eventually, the pair finally broke up for good in June 2016, and shared a joint statement over Instagram.

Later, Demi released a song called "29"that talked about a 12-year age gap with a partner, and the lyrics were pretty dark and intense. "I see you're quite the collector / Yeah, you're twelve years her elder / Maybe now it doesn't matter / But I know, I know better / Now I know, I know better 'cause I'm / Finally twenty-nine." The scathing lyrics then continue: "Thought it was a teenage dream, a fantasy / But it was yours, it wasn't mine / Seventeen, twenty-nine."

Wilmer's name doesn't appear in the song, but some fans seemed to think Demi was referencing this past relationship.

Joe Jonas (2010)

Yup. Joe Jonas did date Demi Lovato very briefly in 2010 (ah, young love), per Teen Vogue. The pair met on the set of Camp Rock, and were the film franchise's romantic leads. However, they quickly decided they were better off as friends. Demi still seems fairly close to all the Jonas Brothers. In 2017, Demi attended the Vanity Fair Oscars Party with Joe and Nick Jonas.

In 2017, rumors also flew that Demi had penned her 2015 song "Ruin The Friendship," about Nick Jonas, per Teen Vogue, but the singer never confirmed (or denied).

Trace Cyrus (2008)

Demi's first big public romance, at 16, was with Trace Cyrus (Miley Cyrus'brother) in 2008. The couple reportedly "gave it a shot," he told People at the time. The singer, who was 20 at the time, was candid with the publication surrounding the pair's breakup.

"Unfortunately, we both have very busy schedules—we’re both on tour right now,” he told People. "She is a lot younger than me.”

There you have it. May Demi and Jutes have a love that's "burnin' up like Neon Lights."
