Demi Lovato Just Congratulated Her Ex Joe Jonas on His Engagement to Sophie Turner

Yesterday, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner announced (via a gorgeous ring photo on Instagram, as you do) that they're engaged. The news came as a bit of a surprise: The two have been dating since last November, but they've kept their relationship so low-key that it wasn't really known how serious they were. But now that they're officially getting married, Game of Thrones and DNCE fans alike have been flooding Joe and Sophie's Instagram posts with likes and comments to share their excitement that these two worlds are colliding.
Fans aren't the only ones sending love and congrats Joe and Sophie's way, of course. The couple's friends and family have shared their excitement, too—including Nick Jonas, Joe's younger brother, who wrote an enthusiastic "YES!!!" on Joe's post and Selena Gomez, who wrote a sweet "congratulations." Joe's ex Demi Lovato has also given her well wishes on the engagement, writing, "Huge congrats!!!!! Sooooo happy for the both of you!!!!" She then followed Sophie Turner on Instagram. Aww.
After becoming friends on the set of Disney's Camp Rock in 2008, Joe and Demi dated for a few months before things fizzled out. "Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one," he told Us Weekly at the time. "I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to breakup, but I love her as a friend. She's been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her."
And though their relationship didn't last, Joe and Demi's friendship did. They've been seen hanging out over the years, Demi has stayed close with Joe's brother Nick, and they even survived being trapped in an elevator together for four hours—a true testament that their friendly feelings are the real deal.
