[UPDATE 04/14/21 11:30 AM ET]: It's been one exciting week for Demi Lovato. After the successful launch of her latest album, Dancing with the Devil... the Art of Starting Over, Demi has more to celebrate about.

Deadline has revealed that Demi's upcoming TV series, Hungry, will be going forward with its pilot on NBC. The pilot will follow a group of "friends who belong to a food issues group and help each other as they look for love, success and the perfect thing in the fridge that’s going to make it all better."

It's likely that filming will start soon so the network can decide whether or not to move forward with a full season.

Demi shared her excitement over the news on her Instagram story with a bunch of smiley face and hands up emojis.

Guess this means we'll be seeing tons of new behind the scenes photos soon!

[Original post]: Demi Lovato is making her way back to the small screen, and but this time she'll be in front of and behind the camera.

The TV series, Hungry, currently has a pilot commitment from NBC. If they love what they see, then the show will no doubt get the chance to film a season. But they will pay a penalty if it doesn't go through.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Hungry will follow a group of friends who belong to a food issues group and help each other as they look for love, success and that one thing in the refrigerator that will make it all better."

Along with starring the series, Demi will also be an executive producer, along with series creator Suzanne Martin, Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills and Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson of SB Projects.

Demi has slowly gotten into the acting game after focusing on her health and music over the past few years. She recently appeared in the Netflix film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, which starred Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, and Will & Grace, which just ended its 11th and final season back in 2020.

There's no word on filming will begin or who will also be starring in the series. But it looks like she's super excited to start based off a post of the announcement that she decided to put up on her Instagram Story.
