Demi Lovato Debuted a Summer Lob

With summer finally inching closer and Coachella signaling the start of festival season, it's time to shake up those winter beauty routines. And if you've been contemplating a major chop or just need some warm weather hair inspiration, Demi Lovato has blessed us with the perfect summer lob.

After previously rocking longer hair that included shades of brown and red, the singer announced that she was getting a new 'do. As Bustle points out, the "Cool for the Summer" singer took her Instagram followers along as Master Stylist Amber Maynard Bolt of Nine Zero One gave her a cut and an apparent dye job. Prior to the haircut, she showed off the current state of her hair, writing, "This was without extensions y'all. It got so long." Shortly after, she posted the new, much shorter cut, writing, "New hair, who dis?"

For the social media debut of her new look, Demi tucked a portion of her now chocolate brown hair behind her ears. In an additional image, she showed how the cut hits just above her shoulders. Posing for a selfie, she wrote, "New hair wassupppp."

In an interview with Bustle, Amber explained that the performer wanted a change in hair that reflected her current outlook. "Demi has been feeling great and wanted something to represent that," she said. "She's been wearing extensions and growing her hair out for a while so this was a nice change up, while keeping her classic and beautiful."

It's great to see and hear that Demi is continuing to feel happy and healthy. In recent weeks, she has been very open with followers regarding her sobriety journey. In January, she celebrated six months of sobriety, and she later got an accompanying tattoo to mark the milestone. Most recently, she inspired social media followers again she fought back against recent headlines targeting her body, sharing in an Instagram post that she is "MORE THAN MY WEIGHT."
