Demi Lovato and Austin Wilson Have Broken Up

After only a month of publicly dating, Demi Lovato and Austin Wilson have called it quits.

According to People, the "Sorry, Not Sorry" singer is heading into the new year as a single woman. “She’s concentrating on herself and her work right now, as well as focusing on her relationship with God,” a source told the publication. “She’s excited for what this next chapter in 2020 will bring.”

On Friday, Demi confirmed their split on social media, and asked fans to "not go after" Austin, adding: "He's a good guy. Much better than what people see on the outside just because he’s got a lot of tattoos.”

She wrapped up her statement, saying, “Breakups are hard for both parties involved. Just stay nice and say prayers.”

Last month, Lovato made her romance with Wilson Instagram-official by sharing a selfie of the model planting a kiss on her cheek. Shortly after, Austin returned the love with another cuddled-up snap of the couple. However, it ended just as quickly as began, with both Austin and Demi deleting any sign of their relationship (aforementioned photographs included) from their accounts.

Before the breakup, Demi and Austin initially found common ground when it came to their sobriety, which is what connected them on a deeper level. "Demi loves that they share the same values and are on the same page about their health and wellbeing," a source told E! News at the time. "Demi thinks he is a good influence and a positive light to be around."

Single or not, Demi has a lot to look forward to in 2020 — not only will she make an appearance on the third and final season of Will & Grace's reboot, but she'll also apparently be dropping some new music. Here's to her best year yet.
