Demi Lovato's Rep Gives an Update on Her Current Status
Hours after the first reports came out that Demi Lovato was hospitalized for an apparent drug overdose, Lovato's team gave an official statement on her condition. "Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support," her rep said, via E!. "Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now."
Many celebrities sent their well wishes to Lovato, including her longtime friend Nick Jonas, ex-boyfriend-turned-friend Joe Jonas, and Mandy Teefey, the mother of her on-off close friend Selena Gomez, who watched the two grow up together. "This was exactly 10 yrs ago at S, Sweet 16," she wrote. "@ddlovato we love you. The world is a better place because of these infectious smiles. My heart hurts."
Over on Twitter, the two Jonas brothers shared their reactions. "Like all of you, I am reeling at the news about Demi," Nick Jonas wrote. "All of us love her and need to pray for her to get well. She is a fighter. #prayfordemi"
Joe Jonas echoed the sentiment in his tweet. "Like all of you, I am thinking of @DDLovato right now. She needs our prayers and support. We all know how strong you are Demi. #prayfordemi"
