Demi Lovato's Friend Requests "No Sirens" in the 911 Call About Her Apparent Overdose
According to audio obtained by TMZ, the friend who called 911 from Demi Lovato's house after her apparent drug overdose requested that ambulances arrive without sirens.
In response to the dispatcher saying, "We do have the paramedics responding now [...] We are going with lights and sirens [...] You should be hearing the sirens real soon," the female caller can be heard saying "Wait, no sirens, please, right?"
The caller is then told that turning off the sirens isn't possible: "No no, no, this is a medical emergency. I don’t have control over that. Sorry about that [...] This is definitely a medical emergency for her and we need to get there as fast as possible."
Upon the arrival of paramedics, Demi was taken to hospital for treatment where her rep issued a statement saying she was awake and with family.
"Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support," the statement read. "Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy."
Well wishes from Demi's friends and fans have been pouring in via social media, and her ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama was spotted visiting her at the hospital on Wednesday.
