  • Demi Burnett, who’s set to star on the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, recently came out as queer. Good for her!

  • Now, trolls online are are sending Demi hateful and homophobic comments, which is so not cool.

Raise you’re hand if you stan Demi Burnett, a bisexual queen! 🙋 During a break from the drama-filled Men Tell All special earlier this week, fans of Bachelor in Paradise were happily treated to the official first sneak peek of the show’s upcoming season, and boy, was it steamy! A brief moment from the sneak peek showed that Demi, former Bachelor contestant and eternal fave from Colton Underwood’s season, is finding romance with another woman on the show—and is now getting shamed online for her sexual preference (as if it’s anyone’s business!).

In the clip, Demi ominously says, “I don’t care who sees this” and in the very next cut is literally seen jumping a mysterious (and presumably cute) woman’s bones. It was a LOT!

After that ~saucy~ scene, Demi goes on to say, “I know that I love this girl. I’m just so happy that I found her, and I can definitely picture being with her for the rest of my life.” Demi confirmed and later came out as a “queer queen” on Twitter. Bless her!

A bunch of fans on Twitter were over the moon for Demi, but amid all the positivity, there were also a bunch of homophobic comments condemning Demi’s actions. It’s 2019, for crying out loud!

In response to Demi’s coming out tweet, a person really had the nerve to respond and say, “This is the first season I WILL NOT watch BIP due to the same sex disgusting behavior on screen. I have nothing against their choice of lifestyle, but I don’t like to have it shoved down my throat on TV. You ruined your show for me and 300 others.” Not. Cool.

Demi remained unfazed by it though. “The moment you described the relationship as disgusting is the moment you claimed yourself as homophobic,” she replied. And if that weren’t enough, another meanie sent Demi a WHOLE ESSAY calling her sexuality “embarrassing” via DMs. See this filth for yourself:

Thankfully, there’s a silver lining in this all. Demi’s fans are not only standing up for her but are also rooting for her to become the first Bachelorette with both men and women as contestants.

ABC, are you listening??? Make. This. Happen!
