Delilah Cupp Shares Raw Emotions After Tearing 2nd ACL In One Year

Professional skier Delilah Cupp had a major setback last year when she tore the ACL in her right knee. She underwent surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation program to make it back on skis this season.

Then, just 14 months after the first injury, Cupp tore the ACL in her left knee. She was understandably devastated.

The video below documents Cupp's injury, the raw emotions and struggles she went through, and how she stayed sane while waiting for surgery. Check it out:

Delilah Cupp: "I literally cannot believe that I have ANOTHER ACL tear on camera, just one year after the first. At least I will be even now!

Episode 3 chronicles the emotional rollercoaster of my Spring, starting with my ACL tear while skiing in the North Cascades backcountry in March, to the discovery that I can still ride bikes without an ACL during the two months between the injury and surgery, and all the ups and downs that come with a major knee injury as a person addicted to skiing and riding bikes. Commence comeback #2.

I first became aware of Delilah Cupp when she shot some promo photos for J Skis, her former ski sponsor, a few years ago. I gave her a follow, and have been keeping up with her social posts ever since.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting her, but based on her posts, and a couple of appearances on The Outside Collective's 'Out Of Bounds Podcast' hosted by Adam Jaber, she seems like one of the most positive personalities in skiing.

With that in mind, it's clear that her most recent injury is taking a toll on her. She has gone through some dark times (understandably so), and I appreciate her willingness to share some of that with her audience.

Being a pro skier is a sick job, but that doesn't mean you can't be depressed by the challenges that come with the territory. She showed a lot of strength by opening up about her struggles.

I felt devastated myself when I heard the news. As an ACL-tearer myself, I know the rehab road ahead is absolutely brutal.

I have a feeling, however, that Cupp will bounce back stronger than ever. Whether she's skiing, biking, or just making content in general, she's clearly a talented filmmaker that is just getting started on leaving her mark on the industry.

I can't wait to see her comeback unfold in real-time.
