Delicious in Dungeon’s Second Cour Announced With A Spoiler-Filled Teaser

Delicious in Dungeon’s 13th episode is live now, bringing a close to the series’ first cour. It’s been a fantastic journey so far, with only one episode dragging on a bit and being just a little bit bad. For the most part, though, the series has been a straight banger.

And the good news is that it’s not stopping yet! The second cour – kind of like a season – has been properly announced now, along with the news that the series would be running until July. The second cour will likely consist of 13 episodes just like the first, and could very well see the story completed, depending on how fast we can get through the latter half.

Fair warning, the materials announcing the second cour of Delicious in Dungeon are fairly spoilery, so if you haven’t watched episode 13 yet, don’t scroll past this screenshot of Marcille sleeping.

Two pieces of promotional material have been released for Delicious in Dungeon’s second cour: a gorgeous piece of key art, and a trailer.

The key art, seen above, is absolutely fascinating, and shows the boy from the painting – Thistle – looming over a whole host of characters. Included in those characters is a new, upcoming party member, but somebody who’s not included is Falin. Curious.

Falin does appear in the trailer, though, with some pretty interesting scenes. It does seem like Thistle is going to be a big part of this cour, but it also looks like we’ll be getting a bigger focus on supporting characters. There are some pretty ominous and foreboding shots in there, too, so it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out.

Delicious in Dungeon has quickly become one of the best anime on Netflix, thanks in no small part to Trigger, the animation studio behind it and many other works. You might also know Trigger from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Little Witch Academia, Promere, or Kill la Kill — the studio is well known for its high-quality animation and bold art direction.

The first episode of Delicious in Dungeon’s second cour will air on April 5, 2024 on Netflix.
