Delaware Restaurant Association honors reporter Patricia Talorico for impact on industry

Longtime Delaware Online/The News Journal food writer Patricia Talorico is being honored for her work by the Delaware Restaurant Association at its 21st Annual Restaurant Industry Cornerstone Awards on Monday, Oct. 23.

She will receive an Industry Impact Award for her contributions to the restaurant industry and wider community. Others being honored in that category include food writers Pam George and Bob Yesbek, and the Food Bank of Delaware's Cathy Kanefsky.

A ceremony in Dewey Beach will toast the resilience and camaraderie of the industry, according to organizers.

Asked to comment on the honor, Talorico expressed her gratitude to the Delaware Restaurant Association.

"I feel very lucky to still be a working journalist after so many years. The favorite part of my job is writing about Delaware chefs and restaurants and sharing with Delaware Online/News Journal readers what our great state has to offer."

Patricia Talorico grew up mostly in Delaware and has worked for the News Journal for more than 30 years. She has covered numerous food icons including Julia Child, Jacques Pépin, Rachael Ray and Anthony Bourdain. Her work has received numerous awards including two James Beard nominations.
