What’s Your Definition of Fun?
In her latest intention video, Oprah shared that she’s been thinking a lot about what it means to have fun. When Gayle remarked, “That was so much fun” following an event they attended, Oprah responded, “Were we at the same thing?” After she had breakfast with Stedman one morning and he remarked, “Wow, this is so much fun,” Oprah thought, Was it fun, or was it just pleasurable? So, she turned to Insiders to ask what they’ve done lately that is fun. Here, a few top comments that we just had to share.
Looking on the Bright Side
For the past 3.5 yrs, I have been managing through a very aggressive breast cancer journey and thankfully, am doing really well...had chemo earlier this week. At 51 years young, fun for me was just hosting my first fundraiser gala last Saturday, in benefit of metastatic breast cancer research and funding for metastatic breast cancer patients. It was fun to make something positive and meaningful out of such a terrifying disease. —AMELIAO
Prioritizing Feeling Good
Fun for me is being in my own space, meditation, nature, the ocean, dancing, singing, drinking water, solving problems in my job and being in good company. Why are all these fun? Because I feel good when I am doing them. That's my fun, it is in the feeling. —SHEENAD
Exploring New Things
I’m 31 (ok, 32 in 4 days). I believe a fun time is usually had when I experience something brand new, when my curiosity is piqued, or when I experience wonder. Maybe “fun” is used sometimes when people really mean they feel comfort, happiness, purpose, connection… all wonderful things! —DELANEY
Appreciating the Small Stuff
While I made breakfast for me and my daughter, I noticed I was smiling when I took the plate I had chilled for her with clementines and apples out the fridge. I felt so happy to be about to sit down with her and have a cute little meal together. To me, that’s pleasurable and great fun. In this moment, there’s nothing else that can top it!
