You Definitely Missed Kate Middleton Comforting Meghan Markle After Serena Williams Lost at Wimbledon

  • Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle were their cheery selves at Wimbledon over the weekend, watching Serena Williams play Simona Halep.

  • Apparently everyone missed an extra sweet moment between the royals that went down right when Simona beat Serena in the match.

Okay, if you spent even ~four seconds looking at the pictures of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle hanging out at Wimbledon together over the weekend, it was abundantly clear that they were having a blast. Just look at the smiles! The body language! The lack of feud rumors!!

Even though it all looked like sunshine and roses (and kind of was, by most accounts), sources are coming forward saying Meghan might've been a little bummed that her pal Serena Williams didn't walk away with a W after facing off against Simona Halep. And Kate Middleton apparently gets it, which is why she reportedly stepped up to console Meghan in a quietly ~regal~ manner.

A Wimbledon insider told People that when Serena lost, “Kate put her hand out and rubbed Meghan’s back to console her." She literally had her back, guys. 😭

People sources added that since Meghan became a mom to bb Archie, her bond with Kate has only strengthened, and now that's becoming apparent to the public when they step out for royal events together.

“Coming from different backgrounds, I think, they have more the makings of a team than people imagined,” said royals author Robert Lacey. “And they have a common interest as partners to these two men who are so crucial to the monarchy, along with their children.”

“There is a sense of [Meghan and Kate’s] relationship strengthening,” a royal source added.

Yet another insider said that Meghan and Kate faced a lot of "undue pressure where the whole world wanted them to be best friends," but they've since moved beyond it, which is such a relief, TBH. Keep the cute outing pics comin'.
