The 58-year-old actress continued, "I’m so sorry. Leo was so loved. Our NYC gang ,we all came up together & had babies around the same time. This loss has shaken our community. I love you Drena and Carlos. We are all here for you."

Mazar paired her public condolences with throwback photos of her now-20-year-old daughter Evelina Corcos with Leandro. One features Mazar holding Evelina as a toddler while Drena stands smiling next to her, with Leandro in her arms. Another shows the children dressed up for Halloween, sitting on the laps of their respective mothers. A different snaps captures the kids playing with a toy together while laughing.

On July 4, Drena confirmed that the 19-year-old died after "someone sold him fentanyl laced pills that they knew were laced." She had initially shared the news of his passing the day before.

De Niro made a statement to the press on the same day Leandro's death was publicly shared: "I'm deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo. We're greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve our loss of Leo."
