Hideo Kojima's recently-announced Death Stranding 2 may not be releasing until 2024.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted a now-removed update on the ArtStation profile of Death Stranding 2 senior art designer Frank Aliberti, which lists a 2024 release year for the sequel. The art designer is also currently working on an untitled first person shooting game and Firewall Ultra, which will supposedly release in 2024 and 2023, respectively. Kojima Productions has not confirmed a release date or period as of writing, however, leaving fans to merely speculate the 2024 release date.

Death Stranding 2 was unveiled during the recent Game Awards, with Kojima revealing that he rewrote the entire story because he was tired of “predicting the future," regardless of him beginning work on the sequel prior to the pandemic. “I had the story written before the pandemic, but after experiencing the pandemic, I rewrote the whole thing from scratch. Also didn’t want to predict any more future, so I rewrote it," he shared.
