Dear reader, if you've been looking for an excuse to channel your inner aristocrat this season, get ready to dust off your tiara—the Regencycore aesthetic is having quite the resurgence. In fact, a little birdie told me that there's recently been a *114 percent* increase in searches for Regency-esque items (on Etsy, specifically). Why, you ask? Well, I have a strong feeling that it has everything to do with the long-awaited season 3 premiere of Bridgerton, hitting Netflix on May 16. And whether or not you're a fan of the bodice-ripping series, let's just say that the fashion trend it has inspired will have you wanting to wear whimsical dresses, puff-sleeves tops and bejeweled accessories ready for a ball. Oh, I had you at puff-sleeve tops? Keep reading to discover everything you need to know about the rise of Regencycore, along with ten finds that'll get you the regal look, starting at just $13.

What Is Regencycore Fashion?

Despite its TikTok-ified moniker, the Regencycore trend was so dubbed by shopping platform Lyst way back in January 2021, just weeks after the debut (and massive popularity) of the first season of Bridgerton, which takes place in a fictionalized version of England's Regency Era. Following a year of socially distanced Cottagecore vibes, it's no wonder viewers were ready to trade in their peasant skirts and milkmaid tops for fancier, frillier takes on period dressing; looks that were fit for our (re)entering society, much like the young heroines of Bridgerton themselves.

The romantic aesthetic, marked by corset details, puffed sleeves, pastel hues and opulent embellishments, had earned a spot at the fashion forefront, from runways to racks. It picked up again in 2022, coinciding with the release of Bridgerton's second season. However, as new fashion trends popped up (not limited to the sporty tenniscore look, which is also making a comeback) it took a bit of a back seat last year. But now that Bridgerton is *finally* headed back to our screens, Regencycore is headed right back to our closets, empire waists and all.

So, if you're new to the trend or hoping to incorporate it more into your wardrobe this spring and summer, look no further. I searched the internet for trendy takes on the Regencycore aesthetic that will make you feel like a queen any day of the week. And I promise, they're not nearly as costumey as you're thinking. Just peep all of the flowy frocks, cutesy shoes and elegant accessories below that you can actually style IRL, just in time for the return of Bridgerton.

1. Hill House Home The Matilda Dress

Hill House Home

The lush canopies of wisteria are practically their own supporting character in Bridgerton, so what better way to embrace the look than with this wisteria-patterned midi? Featuring a fitted *empire* waist, puff sleeves and square neck, the Hill House number checks every box (and then some) when it comes to the Regency look. And not only does it have the romantic and feminine appeal you're after, it's also made of breezy cotton and is machine-washable to boot, so you can wear it on repeat this spring and summer. (We're sure Lady Whistledown won't mind.)

2. Tuckernuck Palmerston Dress

Tuckernuck

This organza dress has a regal ruffle collar and swingy silhouette that's "filled with movement and grace," per the brand. But will it really make you feel like the belle of the ball? Take it from one reviewer who writes, "It drapes beautifully, hugging me in a flattering way. Not stiff or scratchy at all. The lining is a soft baby blue that peeks through the organza...I’m short, but the dress hits just above my knee, and the sleeve length is perfect." The style's whimsical floral print and enchanting texture take it to the next level, and are just a few more reasons why it's bound to become your go-to frock for special occasions.

3. Dolce Vita Meeza Pearl Heels

Dolce Vita

Kitten heels are huge RN, and if there are any that nail the Regencycore trend, it's these pearl-embellished beauties. Their mesh design features delicately placed pearls that give them a super feminine and totally elegant look. But don't just take my word for it. One reviewer shares, "[They're the] most comfortable kitten heels I’ve ever had! The mesh is easy to wear with anything and is so chic!" That's right. These shoes are perfectly comfy, all thanks to their textile and water-based leather alternative upper and 2.2-inch heel, which should be a piece of cake to walk in (even if you don't wear heels often).

4. Lulus Picturesque Allure Dress

Lulus

In the market for a more formal frock this season? This wedding guest-approved maxi dress would fit right in at Queen Charlotte's ball. Just take a gander at its shiny floral jacquard pattern, bow tie straps and princess-seamed bodice that's sure to cut a flattering silhouette. As for that ruffled, tiered skirt? I have no doubt it's as twirl-worthy as it looks. But here's why one buyer doesn't regret scooping up this masterpiece: "I bought this dress for my mom for a wedding, and it fits her perfectly. It is significantly more stunning and beautiful than pictured! Highly recommended!" Needless to say, the square neckline works for ladies of all ages, while the smocked back allows for some stretch up top. With all that going for it, I'm sure it won't stay in stock for long, so you know what to do.

5. J.Crew Double Pearl Headband

J.Crew

Whether you want to add just a touch of Bridgerton style to your fit, or are looking for the perfect finishing touch for your full-on Regencycore outfit, you should consider buying this double-band pearl headband that shoppers describe as light, cute and comfortable. (Especially since it's on sale for a steal.) One buyer also mentioned that the pearls are just the right size, while another swears they're nice and sturdy, so you can keep this headpiece on deck for a long time coming. Still, it was this on review that sold me: "Its dual rows of pearls create a classic yet modern look, suitable for various occasions, from formal events to casual outings. The headband is comfortable to wear and versatile enough to complement different hairstyles, making it a stylish addition to any accessory collection."

6. Abercrombie & Fitch Taffeta Dress

Abercrombie & Fitch

This off-the-shoulder taffeta dress is selling fast, and I don't think I have to tell you why. The ruffle sleeves and subtle draping on the bodice screams period drama, while the thigh-high slit at the back makes it feel distinctly modern. "[It's a] cute dress for a wedding!" one buyer raves. "The material was great, lightweight, some stretch but had a beautiful sheen to it. It fit great, except the arms are a little tight." That said, choose your size and color accordingly. Because did I mention that this slim-cut midi comes in petite, standard and tall sizes, as well as a selection of fabulous fuchsia, dreamy French blue and versatile black. No wonder fashionistas are flocking to it.

7. Journee Collection Renzo Ballet Flats

Target

Regencycore shoes are glamorous by nature, which is exactly how I would describe these pointed-toe flats that are just begging to hit a ballroom. They have a sparkling crystal embellishment that truly steals the show on their faux leather upper, but they don't just look good—thanks to their padded insole, they should also feel good enough to dance in all night long. Reviewers rave about the fit and material, too, with one writing, "[It] is great, not too stiff, but keeps its shape nicely even after much use." With that being said, you can plan to wear them on work days and weekends spent socializing around town.

8. Lulus Essence of Elegance Bodysuit

Lulus

One reviewer said this is her favorite piece of clothing she owns, and I can see why. It's not every day that you come across a gorgeous floral-embroidered bodysuit that feels straight out of a fairytale, complete with sheer balloon sleeves (with elastic shoulders and cuffs), a bustier-style bodice (with underwire) and a back tie to help get the fit on point. Just keep in mind that the romantic bodysuit has a thong bottom and snap closures, so it may require some wiggling into, but that probably won't bother you since this piece has the Regencycore look down pat.

9. Swarovski Mesmera Mixed Cut Crystal Necklace

Bloomingdale's

If you really want to feel like "the diamond of the season," there's no question whether you should snag this statement-making Swarovski necklace that looks way more expensive than it is. Featuring an array of dazzling crystals in different cuts and sizes with rhodium plate finishes, this necklace is so dreamy that I can imagine it sitting on the necks of several Bridgerton characters (including Lady Whistledown herself). Plus, it has a lobster clasp closure, so you shouldn't need a lady's maid to get it on and off with a click. And let's say you want it to fall a little lower on your décolletage—no worries, it includes a 2.75-inch extender, so I'd say it's worth the investment.

10. Reformation Avianna Linen Top

Reformation

Unsurprisingly, I saved my favorite Regency-inspired piece for last. This linen top puts an updated spin on the aesthetic, with sheer shoulders and subtle puffs sleeves creating a gorgeous contrast with the solid bodice. If you ask me, the polished collar and ladylike button accents supply total Daphne Bridgerton vibes reminiscent of Season 1, but you might fall in love with the fitted shape that looks like it'll snatch you inallright places. Just throw it on with a pair of jeans to turn even the most casual outing into an affair fit for royalty.
